Shakti Foundation is a voluntary organisation, working for economic empowerment of resourceless families in rural and urban areas. It does so by providing micro-finance and skill development training to the target people. For marketing, it has established a handicraft bazaar (market).

Red and White Bravery Award
in 1996 by Modi Group, Mumbai
Red and White Bravery Awards
Renamed in 2003 as the Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Awards, it is a social initiative of Godfrey Phillips India of Modi Group, Mumbai. The award was instituted in 1990 to honour courageous people in the Indian society. It intends to recognise the ordinary citizens who have selflessly performed extraordinary, little-known acts of physical bravery and social acts of courage, thereby setting an example for others to follow.

Prembhai Puraskar
Prembhai Puraskar was instituted in the year 1995 by Uttar Pradesh Voluntary Action Network (UPVAN) in the memory of Prem Bhai, the leading social activist of not only Uttar Pradesh, but also of India. At the time of his death Prem Bhai was running a Gandhian organisation Banwasi Sewa Ashram in Sonbhadra district. The award is annually given to one male and one female social worker of Uttar Pradesh for their exemplary work in the field of social work.
